| Description: | The Big Sur International Marathon is a point-to-point course run on scenic CA Highway 1 from Big Sur to Carmel the last Sunday each April. Towering redwoods, crashing waves, coastal mountains and verdant pastures are featured on this bucket list course. The centerpiece of the course is the iconic Bixby Bridge, located at the halfway point of the race.
This event is AIMS member.
The 21-Miler enjoys the same course as the marathon, minus the first five miles. This is the perfect distance for those not yet ready for the full 26.2-mile marathon and welcomes both runners and fitness walkers. At the start, entrants are offered a short yoga/stretching session. The 21-Miler includes the climb up Hurricane Point and also crosses the iconic Bixby Bridge. The event is open to 1,000 participants. |
