Description:The Welterbelauf Zollverein offers various running competitions on the UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein site in Essen, Germany. Participants can choose from different distances and categories, including main runs, relay races, walking, Nordic walking, youth runs, and children's runs. The event promotes athletic participation for all, including Special Olympics athletes and a wheelchair demo run. The courses lead through the impressive industrial backdrop of the Zollverein Coal Mine and Coking Plant.

The Special Olympics Run is part of the Zollverein World Heritage Run and is carried out in cooperation with Special Olympics NRW.
